AFC Leopards thought they had been handed a massive opportunity ahead of their clash with Sofapaka on Sunday but it was not to be as K’Ogalo took advantage of the extended time added on to inflict pain on Bidco.

Bidco, who stunned Gor Mahia 1-0 in the season opener, looked like they could do a rare double over the record Kenyan champions when they went ahead in the 26th minute through Brian Mboya.

Second Half Comeback From K’Ogalo

They held firm until the 61st minute when K’Ogalo found the equaliser netted by the enterprising Ghanaian Ebenezer Assifuah, who has been in good form lately.

That woke up Bidco and they stayed resolute at the back, heading into the 90th minute with the scores at 1-1.

However, with nine minutes added on, Gor Mahia exerted themselves on their hosts and were rewarded in the final minute when full-back Paul Ochuoga scored the winner.

Where Does Victory Leave Gor Mahia?

This came a couple of minutes after midfielder Alpha Onyango had been sent off for a second bookable offence, making it a bittersweet moment for Charles Akonnor’s team.

Victory saw Gor Mahia take their tally to 36 points from 17 games and they have now won three games in a row while they are unbeaten in their last seven.

Gor Mahia now have a three-point lead over second-placed Leopards, who can move level if they beat Sofapaka on Sunday, although K’Ogalo would still have a game in hand.
