Gor Mahia captain Philemon Otieno suffers wrath of fans seeking apology after loss to Nairobi City Stars
Gor Mahia captain Philemon has found himself in troubled waters after fans of the club summoned the skipper to answer for the team's performance against Nairobi City Stars on Monday at the Machakos stadium in the FKF Premier League.
K'Ogalo yielded a first half lead to lose 2-1 to 10-men Nairobi City stars much to the dismay of the fans.
The loss was the first of the season for the defending champion who were missing five key players going into the match.
Midfielders Austin Odhiambo and Ronney Onyango as well as defenders Sylvester Owino, Alphonce Omija and Geofrey Ochieng did not feature, having been on international duty with the national team in South Sudan for African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
Otieno who captained the side in Monday's loss found himself having to calm rowdy fans who demanded answers for the team's performance.
In a viral video the skipper can be seen surrounded by K'Ogalo supporters baying for blood.

The incident comes on the back of head coach Leonardo Neiva's narrow escape at the Machakos stadium where the Brazilian tactician had to be escorted by security out of the pitch at the sight of angry supporters.
The incident forced Otieno to step in at the time to plead for calm with K'Ogalo faithful singing chants against the Brazilian.
The 21-time champions have so far won 2 games, drawn 1 and lost 1 in just 4 matches played, placing 9th on the log with 7 points.
The defending champions will however have a chance to redeem themselves against Murang'a Seal on November 2 at the Machakos Stadium.
