'Goodluck for the whole tournament'- Peseiro in Egypt to cheer on Flying Eagles
Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is in Egypt watching and cheering on the Flying Eagles of Nigeria at the under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 62-year-old tweeted a picture of himself in Egypt supporting the Nigeria under-20 team in their opening group game against Senegal.
The Portuguese manager has been in close contact with the Flying Eagles team from their base in Abuja in preparation for the showpiece and now he is present at the tournament proper.
Peseiro supporting the Flying Eagles
Peseiro put out a statement on his official Twitter page in support of the Nigerian under-20 team which was also accompanied by a picture of himself in the stands.
Peseiro's message of hope for the Flying Eagles read, "In Egypt to follow the AFCON U20, in particular of course The Flying Eagles team to whom I wish good luck for the whole competition!"
The 62-year-old has taken a keen interest in Ladan Bosso's team having watched them in action against Zambia in a 4-2 friendly win for Nigeria.
His support for the Nigeria under-20 team has not quite gone according to plan so far as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Senegal in Group A of the ongoing under-20 AFCON.
The team now sits bottom of the group but will have a shot at redemption against host nation Egypt and Mozambique two teams who played out a goalless draw on the opening day.
