Giannis Antetokounmpo: Nigerian Freak lands in Lagos for the 1st time

Greek-Nigerian professional basketball player Giannis Sina Ugo Antetokounmpo (Adetokunbo) is in Lagos.

Giannis, a two-time NBA MVP, was spotted in Lagos, Nigeria, on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Pictures of the Nigerian Freak in Lagos have gone viral on social media.

In the photos and videos that have surfaced online, Giannis is seen talking to aspiring basketball stars.

He also engaged them on the court at Rowe Park in Yaba, Lagos State Nigeria.

Rowe Park is the venue where another NBA MVP born in Lagos Nigeria, Hakeem Olajuwon was discovered.

According to sources, Giannis was present for the Youth Alive Basketball Championship and participated in court activities with the Kids.

Born in Greece, this is the first time Giannis will step foot in Nigeria.

Giannis has always embraced his Nigerian heritage, with the name on his social media platforms as well as the flag.

When Giannis celebrated his father's Poverty Is No Joke initiative hosted by American comedian, political commentator, and actor Hasan Minhaj, he teased a first-time visit to Nigeria.

He explained the initiative will be focused on Milwaukee where he plays, Greece where he was born, and Nigeria where his parents migrated from.
