#GarciaOUT trends as Napoli fans call for coach to be sacked following Osimhen row
Napoli’s start to the 2023/24 season has been anything but adequate, especially considering how they romped to the Scudetto last season, with many now calling for manager Rudi Garcia to be sacked.
Napoli struggling under Rudi Garcia
Garcia has been at the job for only three months since taking over from Luciano Spalletti, who asked for a sabbatical after leading the Partenopei to Serie A glory for the first time in 33 years.
However, Garcia has found Spalletti’s shoes too big to fill following his summer move, with the reigning champions struggling to string two good results together.
Napoli are winless in three straight Serie A matches, with the draw against Bologna, following a late penalty miss from Super Eagles frontman Victor Osimhen, the latest in a string of poor results.
The defending champions now find themselves with only eight points from their opening five matches as well as seven points behind runaway league leaders Inter, and fans have started calling for the head of the French gaffer.
New manager Rudi Garcia under fire after falling out with star players
Garcia did little to help his cause after appearing to fall out with both of Napoli’s star players from their title-winning campaign, Serie A MVP Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Golden Boot winner Osimhen.
Fans displayed signs calling for Garcia to leave during the game against Bologna and have followed it up by hounding club president Aurelio De Laurentiis on social media, asking the administrator to sack the faltering manager.

The Kvara reaction, Osimhen’s words…the guy is quickly losing control if he even has any remaining.

I think with the squad we have, even a half decent motivator can do something with this side. I don’t see how Garcia does anything but invite more division now. #GarciaOut

The worst manager I have seen. Even Gattuso is better than him. pic.twitter.com/6QWZ7Kk8as
Not even under the reign of Gattuso that we had our team play crap such a this displayed by Rudi's. We're binned and never getting to top 4 if we keep Garcia as coach for the remainder of the games. #GarciaOut pic.twitter.com/OuXrOsd4QG

The disgruntled Napoli faithful even went as far as nominating a new manager to take over from Garcia while they could still make headway in the season, with most calling for former Inter and Chelsea coach Antonio Conte.

Conte is avaliable and the caliber we need to be successful. Granted he comes with baggage but no denying the guy is a winner

Conte will pay his own salary by making Napoli make top 4 this season . Don’t see them getting there with Garcia. I would do it.

It seems unlikely that Napoli would be hurried into sacking Garcia after just three months, but if the current trend of results and player unhappiness continues, the French coach could be headed for the exit sooner rather than later.
