The result, which saw the struggling Premier League side hold one of the league’s traditional giants to a goalless stalemate, was a testament to the steady progress his team is making this season.

Speaking after the match, Monday expressed satisfaction with how Murang’a Seal managed to frustrate the Leopards’ attacking threats, denying them any clear scoring opportunities throughout the game.

“It is a plus for me because we are creating a lot of chances, so it is a case of being clinical in the 18 yard area and scoring,” said Monday.

Room For Improvement - Monday

The former Harambee Stars midfielder highlighted that while his side was able to create opportunities in the final third, converting these chances into goals remains an area they need to improve.

Murang’a Seal’s tactical approach focused heavily on strengthening the midfield to disrupt the rhythm of the Leopards, who came into the game aiming to bounce back after a recent defeat. “We wanted to create numbers in midfield and we got them,” explained Monday.

This strategy paid dividends as the team successfully limited AFC Leopards’ chances and kept them from settling into their usual attacking flow.

The gaffer also revealed that the team introduced  former Githurai AllStars midfielder Mark Mwaniki during the match, pointing to the club’s ongoing efforts to nurture new talent.

“We brought in a young, developing player. He is growing and getting better every step of the way,” Monday remarked, showing optimism about the player’s future impact and the club’s long-term development plans.

Despite their slow pace, Murang’a Seal are focused on steady improvement as they navigate the challenges of the SportPesa Premier League. “We are quite slow, but we are growing slowly,” said Monday, emphasizing the measured and gradual progress the team is making this season.
