Disappointed Kwara United boss rues missed chances in goalless affair with Gombe
Kwara United coach Abdulazeez Mohammad is not happy after his club dropped points at home in their NPFL season opener on Sunday.
Kwara were held to a goalless affair by their visitors Gombe United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
The Afonja Warriors were hoping to kickstart the campaign in the best possible way, with a win, but couldn't find a way behind the well-drilled Gombe defense.
United coach is disappointed with the result
The Harmony Boys were the better side on the day and dominated proceedings at the Lekan Salami Stadium, but they failed to turn that dominance into a goal.
Kwara United's Abdulazeez reacted to the result after the game and while he was happy with the performance of his side, he was left disappointed by the inability of his players to take their chances.
"We are disappointed with the result," the coach told the club media.
"Though we had a good game, we always have (a) problem with our last touches and couldn't convert the chances we created.''
He added that his side will not make excuses for their disappointment but will work to correct some of the mistakes in their next games.
"We should not be giving excuses, but try to work on the lapses ahead of subsequent games," he added.
