Dieumerci Mukoko: St Eloi Lupopo Star Mobbed in South Africa Despite Tormenting Orlando Pirates [VIDEO]
Congolese defender Dieumerci Mukoko made news for all the wrong reasons last month when his club St Eloi Lupopo played in South Africa but he seems to have won many fans in the country.
Lupopo eliminated Pirates from the CAF Champions League following a shootout win in Johannesburg in October but it was Mukoko who made the headlines for his antics during and after the match.
Mukoko was a nuisance throughout the game at Orlando Stadium, rolling down at every contact, while starting fist fights.
One particular incident went unpunished as he headbutted Pirates’ Masindi Nemtajela before making a throat-slitting gesture but he remained on the pitch while his team-mate, Chris Sumbu, was mistakenly shown a red card.

Mukoko has since become an online sensation for his theatrics and as Pirates supporters have made him enemy no.1, rival fans have taken him to heart.
This was evident when Lupopo arrived in South Africa for their group stage match against Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria on Saturday, a match the Brazilians won 3-1.
As the Lupopo team bus arrived at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Sundowns fans mobbed Mukoko with everyone struggling to get his attention, taking selfies and photos while others had him sign their autographs.

They sang his name as they jostled to have him catch their attention and stewards had a tough time trying to whisk him away from the excited fans.
Mukoko, however, played no part in Saturday’s contest as he was serving the first of his two-match suspension from CAF for unsportsmanlike conduct and intimidating Pirates players during the second preliminary round clash.
