Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr has been slammed for turning its back on a player after agreeing a deal to sign him from Dutch club Feyenoord.

Feyenoord center-back David Hancko could be on his way to Atletico Madrid following the collapse of his proposed transfer to Al-Nassr, according to reports in the Netherlands and Spain.

The Slovakian international had agreed a €40 million move to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, which would have been a record sale for Feyenoord. However, reports yesterday suggested the deal sensationally fell apart at the last minute, with the Rotterdam club publicly criticizing Al-Nassr.

It appears Hancko arrived at the Saudi club's pre-season training camp in Austria, only to be denied access to both the team hotel and training facilities despite the prior agreement.

"The player had an agreement with both Al-Nassr and Feyenoord. But when he arrived at the training camp, he was suddenly told he wasn't welcome anymore. This is unprecedented, scandalous, and unheard of. David had been considering this transfer for months," said Feyenoord spokesperson Raymond Solomon in a statement.

"The deal was on, but in the end, they backed out, completely misleading us. As far as I know, a player has never been treated like this before. We cannot accept this treatment of David. We stand in solidarity with him."

This means the 27-year-old Hancko will definitely not be joining Al-Nassr. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have reportedly taken advantage of the situation and revived their interest in the defender.

The Spanish club failed to reach an agreement with Feyenoord last summer despite agreeing terms with the player, but they have now made fresh contact.
