Cristiano Ronaldo close to beating Ighalo's record in the all-time Saudi Pro League top scorer
Nigerian striker Ighalo has established himself as a prominent player in Saudi Arabia since joining the league in 2021.
He currently plays for Al Wehda and has also played for other top clubs, including Al Hilal and Al Shabab.
During his time at Al Hilal, he won both the Saudi Cup and the Saudi Arabian League and has scored many goals in the league.
Ronaldo to beat Ighalo’s record
Ighalo scored 72 goals during his four years in the Saudi Pro League. This achievement places him eighth on the list of all-time highest goal-scorers in the league.
However, Ronaldo’s two goals in Al Nassr's 3-1 victory over Al Hilal last weekend brought his total goals in the Saudi Pro League to 70.
According to Alarabiya news, the Portuguese legend's impressive performance threatens to overtake other top scorers in the league.
Al Nassr faces Al Riyadh next weekend, and Ronaldo could surpass Ighalo's goal record if he scores twice.
Ighalo has struggled this year, with only two goals scored and is unlikely to catch up once Ronaldo overtakes him.
