Council chairman tells football players to be determined as Ghetto Tigers launch Jersey
The Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye local council development area, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala, has advised young football players to be determined and focused on their careers.
Ajala admonished the players during the unveiling of Ghetto Tigers jerseys for the 2023 season at the council secretariat.
Ghetto Tigers launch new Jersey
In preparation for the 2023 season, the Ghetto Tigers launched new jerseys for the season.
The Mushin based football club unveiled the jerseys for all of its teams (U-10, U-13, U-15, senior team, and women's team).
The new jersey signifies the club's official color, orange, which is the official logo of the HRA brand, and black signifies strength.
The navy blue and blue goalkeeper jersey is a historical reminder of the Ghetto Light years before the club metamorphosed into the Ghetto Tigers.
Ajala admonished players to be determined
The Chairman revealed that he is happy with the growth of the Ghetto Tigers that they have been making the local council proud.
He added that he will continue to support sports so that he can eradicate social vices.
He said, "Like I said, I'm happy because they are making us proud. Beyond winning competition, they have also made their stand in part of developing the youths at the local government. I always tell people, that we should continue to use sports to equip the youths as it helped to eradicate social vices.
"To all the players here today, Please dont ever loose focus, be ready to conquer and be determined to become one of the greatest players that we would be proud of.
"On our part we will continue to support and give best avenue for sports to thrive so that we can be the best, i was working on how to bring in more sporting activities to the council."
We are following Global practice - Ghetto Tigers
The team manager of Ghetto Tigers, Mustapha Azeez, revealed that the idea of launching jerseys every year is to to follow the global practice.
He added that the Jerseys will economic value to the club as fans have started placing orders for them.
"We are looking at a global space as a football club, we always want to do things that are obtainabale across the globe. we are gromming players for world class competition and they need to alwyas have a feel of what it takes to be global. Clubs across the World launhes jerseys every year.
"All the Jerseys are for sales which will add economic value to the club and we are looking forward to a have a time that we would be saying we sold 100,000 jerseys in a year," he said
