Chuba Akpom sends message to Peseiro with sweet strike to help Ajax avoid defeat

Ajax came into this game on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Brighton in the Europa League, but they had some momentum in the league off the back of two straight wins.

After a cagey first half, the hosts opened the scoring against the run of play through Ritmeester van de Kamp.

Ajax, desperately trying to avoid defeat, called on the excellent Chuba Akpom and he answered. 

Less than a minute after coming on, he restored parity, collecting a sweet strike before finishing emphatically.

The visitors thought they had sealed the three points in the end when Tahirovic scored with 8 minutes to go but the hosts scored a 92nd-minute penalty to take a share of the spoils.
