Chelsea-linked Jose Mourinho ‘ready to start’ coaching again

Esteemed Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, commonly referred to as 'The Special One,' expressed his desire to return to management promptly but emphasised the importance of waiting for the right time to make a comeback to popular journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Mourinho's tenure at Roma was met with mixed results, culminating in his dismissal on January 16 despite back-to-back European finals and the Gialorossi’s first European trophy for 40 years.

Since he departed from Roma, Mourinho has been linked to a return to Chelsea where he already spent five years across two spells.

Eager to resume his managerial career, Mourinho expressed his readiness to return to work at the earliest opportunity. However, he remains cautious, emphasizing the need to exercise prudence in selecting his next challenge.

On his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano interviewed Mourinho and asked: “I can see in your eyes, you are ready for the next chapter, ready to return. What’s your feeling now? What’s your feeling on what’s next?”

Mourinho replied: "Your feeling is right. I’m ready to start. Sometimes when you end in a club, you feel the need of a rest, of a think, you know, to process things. In this case, one day after I left, I was ready to go. I feel strong, I feel good, I love the work.

“I’m really ready, but I don’t want to make the wrong choice. I cannot accept something just because of the feeling and just because of the passion to be back, so I have to be patient.

“We are in March. Is something going to happen in March or April? It’s very very difficult, so my objective is to re-start next summer."

Mourinho's comments suggest that while he is eager to return to management, he is prioritising patience and prudence in selecting his next challenge.

As the summer approaches, speculation will continue to swirl around Mourinho's potential landing spot, with Chelsea among the clubs closely monitoring his situation.
