Chelsea injury trouble continues as Ben Chilwell set for scan after his substitution against Brighton
Chelsea were able to secure a 1-0 victory against Brighton as they progressed to the 4th Round of the Carabao Cup.
However, Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell was forced off in injury time due to a hamstring injury.
A scan has been booked by Chelsea which will take place today, to assess the hamstring injury he suffered.
Chilwell join Chelsea’s injury list
Ben Chilwell has joined Chelsea's injury list after picking up a hamstring injury against Brighton on Wednesday.
The Chelsea defender received treatment on the pitch with the medical staff before being taken off by his manager according to reports from Daily Mail.
Chilwell has previously dealt with hamstring issues, including a serious one last season that forced him to miss the World Cup in Qatar.
The outcome of the examinations to ascertain the severity of the injury will be closely watched by Chelsea.
Chelsea already have a list of players on suspension and injury with Malo Gusto and Nicolas Jackson being banned for their next game at Fulham on Monday.
Among their long-term injured absences are Marcus Bettinelli, Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Trevoh Chalobah, captain Reece James, and others.
Meanwhile, Benoit Badiashile and Carney Chukwuemeka, who had hamstring and knee problems, have returned to partial team training after being sidelined with injuries.
