‘Champions Play Anywhere’ - Former Gor Mahia Captain Unconvinced by Cries Over Poor Pitch After Tusker Loss
While Gor Mahia coaches, players and fans complain over the poor conditions the team was subjected to by Tusker on Tuesday, one of their ex-players is having none of it.
K’Ogalo suffered a costly loss to Tusker at Wang’uru Stadium in Mwea, Kirinyanga County when the brewers won 1-0 to leave K’Ogalo looking over their shoulders in the FKF Premier League title race.
However, what has dominated conversations after the match was the state of the pitch in Mwea with both Gor Mahia coach Charles Akonnor and his assistant Kobi Bismarck Mensah categorical that Tusker had ill intentions.
But former Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna believes K’Ogalo did not show a championship mentality by complaining after a loss as he feels they should have weathered the storm and got a result before raising their concerns.
Muguna Hit Outs at K’Ogalo
Champions play anywhere,be it hostile, bad surface or Far away from home

Have won League titles playing in grounds like : Narok,Kinoru,Awendo,Muhoroni,Chemelil,Thika etc
Am not advocating for bad pitches, but win first then you can complain after the victory
“Champions play anywhere, be it hostile, bad surface or far away from home,” Muguna posted on social media.
“Have won League titles playing in grounds like: Narok, Kinoru, Awendo, Muhoroni, Chemelil, Thika etc,” added the Botswana-based midfielder, who won three league titles across two spells at Gor Mahia.
“Am not advocating for bad pitches, but win first then you can complain after the victory,” Muguna, who also won the FKF Premier League crown with Kenya Police last season, further stated.
Muguna’s take will likely rile K’Ogalo fans even more as he has maintained his onslaught on his former team, adding onto a catalogue of stinging comments made by him towards his ex-club.
The defeat left Gor Mahia’s title aspirations hanging by a thread as they now lead bitter rivals AFC Leopards by just two points, having been 10 clear one month ago.
