CAF CL: Khalid Aucho's Young Africans receive baptism of fire in the first group stage game
Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans SC got their 2023/24 CAF Champions League group stage journey to a slow start after getting beaten 3-0 by Algerian side CR Belouizdad on Friday.
Yanga fell to the Algerians at the Stade 5 Juillet 1962, with Abdelraouf Benguit, Abderrahmane Meziane Bentahar and Lamin Jallow on the score sheet.
Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho played 90 minutes for Yanga but couldn't quite help them to a better result.
Meanwhile, former SC Villa defender Gift Fred didn't make the squad in the team that suffered the Belouizdad beating.
