Benin under the guidance of German coach Gernot Rohr wasted no time in asserting their dominance as Steve Mounié put his side in front in the sixth minute.

Benin under the guidance of German coach Gernot Rohr wasted no time in asserting their dominance as Steve Mounié put his side in front in the sixth minute.

Mounié then turned provider in the 23rd minute, assisting Andreas Hountondji for the second goal doubling Benin's lead.

The third goal came in the 33rd minute through Hassane Imourane, who capitalized on a brilliant assist from Junior Olaitan.

Olaitan sealed the victory in the 67th minute, adding the fourth goal with a composed finish, as Benin recorded a resounding 4-0 win.

This result marks Benin's second consecutive win in the qualifiers, following their 1-0 triumph over Zimbabwe earlier in the month.

Coach Gernot Rohr, who previously led Nigeria to the 2018 FIFA World Cup now has a chance to do so with Benin needing six points from two remaining group games.
