Arteta promises more signings for Arsenal, gives Mbappe update
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an update on possible transfers at the club, saying he expects the Gunners to still sign more players this summer.
Arsenal looking to strengthen squad with more signings
The Gunners have already unveiled three summer signings, including a club-record £105 million deal for Declan Rice from West Ham, as well as the captures of German star Kai Havertz from Chelsea and Jurrien Timber from Ajax.
After coming within touching distance of the Premier League title in the 2022/23 season, Arsenal have set about strengthening their squad ahead of the new season and their first UEFA Champions League in six seasons, hoping to mount another title challenge and succeed in Europe.
Despite the deals already completed this summer, Arteta believes that the club can still do some buying and selling this summer as he hopes to have a stronger squad to work with at the end of the window.
Arteta asked about Mbappe Saga
Ahead of Arsenal’s pre-season fixture against Manchester United, Arteta told Football London, “There will still be movement on. There will be a lot of ins and out.
“It’s still very early. If we can try improve the team, we’ll do so. But we don’t want to get any weaker.”

The Gunners’ gaffer was also asked about the current transfer saga involving Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and was quizzed about whether Arsenal will be entering the race to sign the French forward who was put up for sale by his club.

Arteta replied, “You know I never talk about players that don’t play for our club. I’m sorry”.
Several clubs are on high alert after PSG left Mbappe out of their pre-season training camp in Japan and listed the French striker for sale this summer, but with the 24-year-old’s reported preference for Real Madrid, it is unlikely that Arsenal will be making a move for him.
