Antony: Man United winger reportedly accused of domestic abuse by ex-girlfriend

Manchester United winger Antony is in the news once more, this time for the wrong reason.

According to Brazilian media, the 23-year-old winger who joined United from Ajax last summer, has been accused of domestic abuse by a former partner.

Antony’s ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, reported him to the police for ‘domestic violence, threat and bodily injury’.

Cavallin says Antony assaulted her on May 20, and the report adds that the Brazilian model included ‘photos of abrasions and threatening messages’ from the former Ajax star.

The report also adds that have already opened an investigation into the matter, however, there has yet to be any official comment made by Manchester United or the player.

According to an exclusive report from Brazilian outlet, Segue a Cami, Gabriela Cavallin has already asked for protective action against the footballer.

Cavalli also revealed that it was not the first time the player manhandled her.

In January this year, she said a fight broke out between the pair and Antony hit her, but she decided to forgive the Red Devils star.

Apparently, the talented winger did not take the decision warmly.

However, the straw that broke the camel’s back happened last month, after she declared her intention to end their relationship.

It is also pertinent to note that, Antony is currently married to his childhood sweetheart and long-term partner Rosilene Xavier, and the couple have a son, Lorenzo.

This concerning story comes amid the ongoing issues involving another Manchester United player, Mason Greenwood who remains suspended by the club.

Greenwood who was previously charged with domestic abuse and sexual assault was finally cleared of his charges earlier this year.

However, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the 21-year-old Englishman amid reports of a transfer away from Old Trafford this summer.
