Ancelotti announces date for Mbappe's Real Madrid debut
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed when new signing Kylian Mbappe will finally make his official debut after completing his summer move from Paris Saint-Germain.
Real Madrid’s packed schedule
Real Madrid have already played twice in pre-season, suffering losses to both AC Milan and arch-rivals Barcelona in El Clasico.
Los Blancos's pre-season schedule still includes a match against Chelsea on August 7 in North Carolina, but that match, like the first two, will not feature Mbappe.
The French superstar was not included in the USA tour squad as part of an agreement that allowed him an extended summer break after France's run to the semi-finals of Euro 2024 and will only join up with the rest of the squad when they return to Spain.
Ancelotti confirms Mbappe debut date
Ancelotti has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will make his highly anticipated debut for Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta on August 14.
Speaking with Mundo Deportivo, Ancelotti said, Ancelotti has reassured fans that the plan to debut Mbappe in the Super Cup is firmly on track. "Mbappe can obviously play in the Super Cup from the start. Jude Bellingham too and others. They are prepared, they have followed a plan and will all play.”
In addition to the Super Cup final, Real Madrid will also commence their LaLiga title defence shortly after. Their first league match of the season is scheduled for August 18, where they will face Mallorca away.
