African recognition - Super Falcons win CAF Womens’s National Team of the Year
Their triumph in 2025 was pushed by another stellar year, which culminated in a record 10th Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
In a thrilling final, the Falcons overcame host nation Morocco with a 3-2 victory, after being two goals down in the first half.
Their performance has been recognised by CAF, with the team being awarded the best women’s team of the year.

The latest accolade reinforces the team's long-standing reputation as the continent's most formidable and consistent squad.

The Super Falcons' history with this award is extensive, having first claimed the honour in 2010.
