African Games: Uninspiring Nigeria Flying Eagles down by late Uganda stunner
Ladan Bosso's Nigeria U20 side the Flying Eagles got their African Games campaign off to a losing start after conceding a stunning late strike in a 2-1 defeat to Uganda in Ghana.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Bosso and his boys have their work cut out following an uninspiring opener against the Ugandan Hippos.
Uganda Shocks Nigeria’s Eagles
The Flying Eagles had responded swiftly to going behind following Usama Arafat's 33rd-minute opener when Sadiq Isiyaka equalised before half-time.
But just when it looked like Nigeria would kick off with a hard-earned point, Uganda snatched all three points with a brilliant long-range effort late on.
Nigeria was second best from start to finish and it was no surprise when Arafat broke the deadlock by firing Uganda in front after beating the offside trap.
Nigeria stemmed that setback well though and were level just four minutes later - Isiyaka showing great composure to slot home the equaliser.

The second half saw the Hippos continue from where they stopped as they searched for the winner which proved elusive until late on.
Just as the game looked to be petering out into a draw, Uganda then struck with a moment of magic - an unstoppable long-range drive flying past the Eagles goalkeeper who should have done better.
A disappointing start, but plenty of room for encouragement ahead of their remaining Group B games against Senegal, South Sudan and Tunisia..
