Bafana Bafana took an early lead when the dynamic Oswin Appollis delivered a moment of individual brilliance in the 21st minute. His well-placed strike beat Angolan goalkeeper Hugo Marques to put South Africa ahead.

However, Angola fought back before the interval. Show Cafumana found the back of the net in the 35th minute, levelling the score at 1-1 and ensuring the teams went into halftime on equal terms.

The decisive goal came late in the second half. Man of the match Lyle Foster demonstrated his class, calmly slotting the ball past Marques in the 79th minute to restore South Africa's lead and clinch a crucial three points.

Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos Breaks Silence After Angola Victory

Following the match, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos commended his team for their increased intensity after the break. He specifically praised the contribution of Tshepang Moremi, who came on as a halftime substitute.

"We got some things right during halftime, and I think Moremi also gave us good service," Hugo Broos stated after the match. "He played very well, was quick and was a threat for the Angola defence. This changed a lot of things."

Moremi nearly made an immediate impact, finding the net in the 51st minute, but his goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.

"We were also more aggressive and put more pressure on the opponent," Hugo Broos added. "We had chances and even scored with Moremi, but unfortunately, it was offside."
