16-year-old Quincy Wilson smashes 400m World U18 record in America

American sprinter Quincy Wilson has once again rewritten the record books, breaking the 400m World U18 Record with an astonishing time of 44.20 seconds at a meet in Florida. 

This marks the third time this year that Wilson, 16, has surpassed his own record, solidifying his status as one of track and field's most exciting young talents.

The electrifying performance occurred under the lights at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where Wilson competed against some of the nation's top professional runners. 

Wilson's exceptional speed and endurance were on full display in a race that saw multiple personal bests as he pulled away from runner-up Bryce Deadmon in the final stretch. 

Notable among the competitors was Matthew Boling, who finished third with a personal best of 44.84 seconds.

Wilson's latest achievement represents a significant improvement on his previous personal best of 44.59 seconds, set during the semifinals of the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. 

The young athlete's rapid progression is nothing short of remarkable, having broken the under-18 world record twice during those trials before finishing sixth in the final.

With this performance, Wilson now ranks as the sixth-fastest 400-meter runner in the world this year, an extraordinary feat for a high school junior. 

His time has earned him a spot in the Team USA relay pool for the upcoming Paris Olympics, where he will be considered for the 4x400-meter relay team alongside the top three finishers from the Trials and the next three fastest athletes.

Wilson, who attends the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, has already attracted attention from major sponsors, securing an NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal with New Balance. 

This partnership underscores the immense potential seen in the young sprinter.

This record-breaking performance in Florida has not only cemented his place among the elite in his event but also raised expectations for what this teenage sensation might achieve on the global stage.
