100 Days to Paris 2024: Noah Lyles reminisces journey from Tokyo 2020 heartbreak to ruling the world

With less than 100 days to the start of Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the world's fastest man Noah Lyles has promised he's better than he was at Tokyo 2020 and ready to deliver his dream of winning the 200m Gold medal.

The American speedster settled for a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2022 Olympic Games, behind fellow countryman Kenneth Bendnarek with the silver medal as Canadian track icon Andre de Grasse claimed his first individual Olympic title.

Ever since, Lyles has become a two-time world 200m champion, stayed undefeated in the event, and clocked the third-fastest time in history at 19.31s. 

In addition, he won three gold medals (100m, 200m, and 4x100m) at the last world championship in Budapest, earning him the bragging rights of the fastest man in the world. Now, the 26-year-old believes nothing will stop him from becoming the Olympic champion in Paris.

Counting down to the start of the Games, Lyles released a video capturing his loss in Tokyo and the progress he has made since then, which he captioned: 

Lyles has bragged he's targeting a quadruple of gold medals in Paris, by winning all titles in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m.
