Kenya look set to play in the relegation playoff after failing to make the Main Cup quarters.

The men's national sevens side, Shujaa’s woeful season continued in the Toulouse 7s as they were battered by champions-elect, New Zealand 31-5.

Shujaa came to the Toulouse leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series on the back of five consecutive losses against the All Blacks 7s.

New Zealand went ahead through Shay Clark just three minutes before half time, with the exciting young player from Kings Clark easily making a run past the Shujaa defence which was well converted.

The All Blacks 7s would extend their lead just two minutes later after they easily cut through Kenya with a try from Regan Ware who cut through the middle, and it was also well converted.

Scott Curry would put his experience to the test, as he sucked in Kenyan Players before finding winger Rogerick Solo, who made a free run to make a try and put New Zealand 19 to the good.

Solo would put his speedy wheels to the test yet again, as he glided past a hapless Shujaa defence to score his second try of the game which was well converted and the scoreline read 26-0.

Shujaa could not stop camping out of their halfway line and it was soon 31-0 to New Zealand who showed a proper individual display through Moses Leo who was off the bench.

Denis Abukuse however, would score a consolation try for the 2016 Singapore 7s winners after he intelligently kicked the ball forward from the left flank before the Menengai Oilers winger caught the ball again and scored the try.
