Kabras Sugar recorded yet another huge Kenya Cup win with KCB silencing Strathmore while Mwamba RFC and Homeboyz stay winless after five rounds of matches

Kabras Sugar extended their hot winning streak in the Kenya Cup to five straight matches following an 87-0 thrashing of a hapless Mwamba RFC on Saturday.

It was a great show of might from the sugar millers who did not give their rival a sniff as they walked away with yet another bonus point win to maintain their place at the top of the table.

It has been a poor start to the season for Mwamba who remain pointless after five rounds of matches, something that will send fear among their fans even this early in the season.

Meanwhile, second-placed KCB maintained their place, keeping pressure on Kabras Sugar with a 36-11 win over Strathmore Leos in the weekend’s highlight match.

Strathmore came into the match looking for an upset to record their third win of the season but remained on two victories a KCB slammed the door on them for a fifth straight win.

In Nakuru, Menengai Oilers also made it five straight wins after narrowly edging out Kenya University’s Black Blad 23-19.

Oilers were high on confidence after securing their first derby win over rivals Nakuru RFC last week and showed grit to steal the victory by a four-point margin.

However, Oilers were dislodged from third place by Kenya Harlequin who also made it five wins out of five, following a 45-5 victory over Nakuru RFC.

Harlequin have been on the up this season and showed again why they could be the team to challenge the top two for the title when they silenced a hapless Nakuru, who remain with only one win so far this campaign.

The other team that should fear the worst are Homeboyz who suffered a fifth straight defeat after going down 32-0 to promoted Nondescripts to remain bottom of the 12-team log.

The deejays are facing the music in a season when they have lacked quality to compete with the rest of the teams in the division.

Another newly-promoted team Kisumu RFC secured their second win of the season, edging out winless Catholic Monks 13-10.
