Kenya’s rugby sevens team have a daunting task at the African Games after opening their campaign with two losses.

Kenya Sevens have their work cut out at the African Games after losing back-to-back games in Accra, Ghana on Tuesday.

The country is being represented by the U23 side at the continental games but the youngsters have found the going tough so far, starting their campaign with a 10-5 loss to Burkina Faso before falling 27-22 to Zimbabwe.

It leaves them with a lot of work to do on Thursday when they will take on Tunisia and hosts Ghana before completing pool action with a match against neighbours Uganda.

Kenya went into the event with high hopes of bagging a medal but that now appears difficult to achieve unless they win their remaining three games while hoping that their rivals falter.

Their neigbours Uganda had no such problems, however, as they dispatched Zimbabwe 14-0 while Tunisia thrashed Benin 34-0.

It means the Kenyans have it all to do in their next matches as Uganda and Tunisia have shown that they will not be pushovers.
