Rally driver Maxine Wahome was welcomed with her mother’s prayers after her release from Lang’ata Women’s Prison on Friday.
Beverly Wahome, Maxine's mother was present during her release from prison where she had been detained, and welcomed her back with prayers, proving the unconditional love of mothers.
Wahome had been detained for the last 25 days following the suspected murder of her boyfriend, Assad Khan. She is the main suspect in the murder of Khan, who died on December 12, 2022.
Her release was ordered by Justice Lilian Mutende, who freed her on a bond of Ksh2 million with one surety of a similar amount.

Khan, who was equally a rally driver, died on December 18, 2022, after an alleged domestic misunderstanding.
"This court takes judicial notice that bail is a constitutional right for any accused person unless compelling reasons are advanced to show that the suspect is a threat to justice," Justice Mutende stated while releasing the primary suspect in the murder case.
"The court will not hesitate to cancel her bond should she interfere with witnesses".
The court further directed Wahome to deposit her passport in court and then ordered her not to travel without its permission.
After she was arrested in December and produced in court, Wahome was freed on a cash bail of Ksh100,000 as police investigated the death of Khan.
On Friday, March 7, her bond was canceled and she was then remanded at Lang'ata Women's Prison.
