Noah Lyles’ fiancée Junelle Bromfield has revealed the surprising things she had to do to overcome the heavy loss of her mother.

Jamaican athlete Junelle Bromfield has opened up about some of the weird things she did to overcome the heavy loss of her mother.

Bromfield lost her mother in 2021, after she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer, and her demise was too tough on her daughter who was then an upcoming sprinter.

Now 27 and more experienced, Bromfield has detailed how her healing journey was not easy and ended up having several piercings as a way of dealing with the loss.

“Looking back and realizing that piercing was how I grieved,” Bromfield posted on Instagram.

“I had like 12 of them. I don’t like piercings that much,” she added, explaining the extent she went to overcome her mother’s demise.

How Did Bromfield Heal from Mother’s Death?

Junelle Bromfield has world and Olympics medals.

Bromfield, who is now engaged to Olympics and world 100m champion Noah Lyles, has previously explained how meeting the American sprinter was Godsend as he played a major part in her healing journey.

“I started therapy, like, two years ago because my boyfriend is big on therapy, and he felt as if I needed it, too,” Bromfield told Inside Lane in July 2024.

“It honestly has helped a lot because I feel as if I’ve been suffering with survivors’ guilt, and it was basically laying on my shoulders. Now, I’m like, ‘You know, I’ve got to live my life and just enjoy the moment of it because life is short.’”

Bromfield, a world and Olympics silver and bronze medalist over the 4x400m, now lives with Lyles in Florida, USA as they continue to train together although she has scaled down her athletics activities in 2024.
