Bradford City have confirmed that Harambee Stars winger Adam Wilson is not part of their plans for the upcoming season and is free to find a new club.

Bradford City have confirmed that Tyler Smith and Harambee Stars winger Adam Wilson are not part of their plans for the upcoming season.

Both players, who still have a year remaining on their contracts, have been permitted to seek new clubs. Smith joined the Bantams permanently last summer from Hull City after a successful loan spell, but struggled to make an impact, scoring just three goals in 37 appearances.

On his part, Adam Wilson, signed from Welsh side The New Saints last August, made only eight appearances before suffering a serious hamstring injury against Stockport County in December, which sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

Graham Alexander said that they had recently had a conversation with both players via Grant Warburton, during which they informed them that they were not currently in the club's plans.

Alexander also stated that it would be better for the players' careers to be playing regularly, which would not happen at the current club.

“We’ve spoken with both players recently through Grant Warburton and informed them they’re not currently in our plans. They’re both under contract for another year, and we’ll look to resolve that as quickly as possible,” Graham Alexander said as quoted by the Telegraph and Argus.

“We’re in discussions with them and their representatives, and hopefully, we’ll find a solution in the coming weeks and months. It will be better for their careers to be playing regularly, which won’t be happening here.”

The club has also confirmed that Smith and Adam Wilson are currently training with the Under-18s squad since neither player has been involved in recent first-team training sessions or pre-season fixtures.

The approach to train Adam Wilson and Smith with the youngsters was to allow for time for their futures to be resolved. This decision reflects City's focus on streamlining their squad for the upcoming campaign.

Several other players spent time on loan at Bradford City last season, including Vadaine Oliver (Stevenage), Dan Oyegoke (Brentford), Jonathan Tomkinson (Norwich City), Luke Chapman (Sheffield United), and Noah Wadsworth (Burnley). Oliver and Oyegoke remain under contract with their respective clubs.
