Bidco could finish as high as fourth on 53 points if they can win their remaining three games, given they now sit just three points behind AFC Leopards after beating them home and away.

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia believes their last league win over AFC Leopards could go a long way in helping them make history for the club over the next three games.

The team's 1-0 win at the Kenyatta Stadium on May 19, courtesy of Samuel Ndung’u's 68th-minute goal, marked their second triumph over Leopards this season, having previously won the first leg 2-1 at St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a.

Akhulia believes that completing the double over such a storied club as AFC Leopards is a significant morale boost for Bidco United as they push to finish in the top 10, something they have never done since winning promotion back in 2019.

"We’ve done the double over Leopards and that performance is a real boost for the lads as we push for a top 10 finish," Akhulia remarked to The Star. The initial victory saw Shariff Musa score a brace, while Victor Omune netted for Leopards.

The coach attributes Bidco's impressive performances against Leopards to the team’s discipline and mental fortitude.

"The boys were disciplined and focused throughout both matches. They were highly competitive encounters, but our rigorous training and preparation paid off," he added.

“This discipline and focus will be crucial as Bidco navigates their remaining fixtures.”

Akhulia acknowledges the challenges ahead but remains confident.

"It will be tough, no doubt. The league is very competitive. All we have to do is stick to the script," he stated. Currently, Bidco United sits 10th in the standings with 44 points from 31 matches, just one point ahead of KCB, who are in 11th place.

Bidco United's upcoming fixtures include matches against eighth-placed Kariobangi Sharks on June 16, 16th-placed Shabana on June 19, and champions Gor Mahia on June 23. Their opponents, KCB, face seventh-placed Posta Rangers on June 15, Ingwe on June 19, and Nairobi City Stars on June 23, before competing in the FKF Cup final against Kenya Police on June 29.

Despite the tough schedule, Akhulia believes his team is well-prepared and motivated. "They will be challenging games, but that won’t deter us from our goal of winning all the matches," he noted. "Training has been excellent. We’ve prepared well for the last three games, and there are no major injuries. The boys are highly motivated," he stated.

The significance of beating AFC Leopards home and away cannot be overstated.

It not only boosts the team's confidence but also underscores Bidco United's potential to compete with the league's top teams. This newfound confidence could propel them to finish the season strongly and secure a top 10 finish, a remarkable achievement for the Thika-based club.
