Arsenal;s British-Nigerian forward Bukayo Saka looks ahead towards next season after dominant Wolves win.

Arsenal star winger Bukayo Saka is already looking forward to next season after the Gunners closed off their season on a high note with a 5-0 victory over Wolves at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta's side led the league table for most of the season but faltered at the end. Manchester City overtook them and lifted the Premier League.

The British-Nigerian believes the team will take lessons from the mistakes they made in this campaign into the next.

What Saka said

Saka himself, Granit Xhaka, and Gabriel Jesus were all on target as the North London giants brushed aside Wolves.

Speaking after the game, the Hale End Academy graduate was elated about the performance, saying they deserved to end the season in this manner.

He admitted that they were still disappointed to not end the season as champions, but says they can be proud of what they have achieved.

“Really happy with our performance and I think the season deserved us to close it like this in front of our fans,” he said, per the BBC.

"We wanted to finish with pride after having some really enjoyable moments. Finishing like this we can leave the fans for the summer in a happy way.

“It is a mixed feeling. We’re disappointed because it didn’t end the way we wanted it to but it will be nice to share this moment with our fans because I think they can be proud of us and we can be proud of them as well.

“I think there was a run off games where we didn’t get good performances and momentum went down but we’ve learnt a lot of lessons to take into next season so we don’t make the same mistakes."

Meanwhile, Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has had an incredible 2022/23 season, helping Napoli to their first Serie A title, and his 24th goal of the season, scored against Bologna, set a new milestone in Serie A this season, showing how important he has been.
