Former Ulinzi Starlets player Mukalo determined to shine in CAF Women's Champions League qualifiers.

Vihiga Queens' talented midfielder Providence Mukalo is confident as her team prepares to embark on their quest for glory in the CAF Women's Champions League qualifiers.

Mukalo, who previously played for Ulinzi Starlets, is determined to make a significant impact in the upcoming tournament.

Vihiga Queens finds themselves in Group B of the CECAFA Zone alongside formidable opponents, JKT Queens FC from Tanzania, AS Kigali from Rwanda, and Zanzibar's New Generation FC.

Despite the challenging lineup, Mukalo remains unfazed, placing her trust in the team's spirit of togetherness.

"We have a lot of unity as a team which makes it easy for us to work together as a team and win easily," she stated in an interview with Pulse Sports.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of the technical bench, Mukalo praised their hard work and dedication to equip the team with essential skills and training.

With essential skills and training imparted by the coaching staff, the players feel well-equipped to take on any formidable opponent that may stand in their way.

"Our able technical bench is working hard and giving us the required skills and training that will enable us to face any opponent that will come," she added.

As anticipation builds for the CECAFA Zone qualifiers, Mukalo remains resolute that Vihiga Queens will rise to the occasion.

"The tournament will be a tough one, but we are tough again since we are prepared," she concluded.

The regional qualifiers, scheduled to take place in the Ugandan towns of Jinja and Kampala between August 12th and 30th, 2023, have drawn significant attention.

With nine talented teams vying for a single coveted spot, the competition promises to be fierce and exhilarating.

The ultimate goal for all participating teams is to secure a spot in the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League, set to be held in Cote d'Ivoire later this year.

With the memory of ASFAR of Morocco's triumph in the 2022 edition, where they upset defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a thrilling final, the desire to claim the championship title is stronger than ever.

The inaugural edition of the CAF Women's Champions League in 2021 was claimed by South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, adding to the prestige and excitement surrounding the tournament.
