Nairobi United be warned! Ugandan side NEC FC have promised to eliminate the Kenyan team from the CAF Confederation Cup in Nairobi from this weekend.
The Kenyan side played out a 2-2 draw with the Ugandan club at Nakivubo Stadium on Saturday but NEC FC coach Hussein Mbalangu maintains his side were the better team and will prove it in Nairobi during the return leg on Saturday.
“It will be a different game, we have started to regroup and correct our mistakes and try to set up a gameplan and strategies to win that game,” Mbalangu told the club’s in-house YouTube channel.

Benni McCarthy: Harambee Stars Coach Attracts Interest from Tanzanian Giants
Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has reportedly received a fresh approach from a Tanzanian club who are keen to lure him from Kenya.
Mbalangu says his team overwhelmed Nairobi United but did not utilise their chances and conceded from avoidable mistakes that they should be able to correct in Nairobi.
What are NEC FC Counting on?
“The best thing we need to do is defend very well because when you look at the way we conceded, those goals were avoidable on our day,” he added.
“We are trying to train the players mentally and physically so that they can avoid the mistakes in the return leg. When you look at the general play, we were better than them, they were not a threat and we created more chances,” said the tactician, exuding confidence in securing an away win to sail through.
