Tusker FC's coach Robert Matano has declared every game a Cup final in their bid to close a 10-point gap for the title.

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has transformed the remainder of the 2023/2024 FKF Premier League season into a series of cup finals for his team.

The Brewers are currently facing the colossal challenge of narrowing a 10-point gap with league leaders Gor Mahia, but their recent 2-1 victory over Muhoroni has kept their championship aspirations alive.

Speaking after the crucial win, Matano emphasized the importance of maintaining a winning streak in the season's final stretch.

"We cannot afford to drop points at this crucial juncture. Our goal is to continue winning and work on reducing the gap with the leaders. With 11 league matches and four Cup games left, every encounter from now on is a final for us," said Matano as per Capital Sports.

Saturday's triumph at Muhoroni was particularly sweet for Tusker, as it avenged last season's title hopes dashed at the same venue with an identical scoreline.

Striker Eric Kapaito emerged as the hero of the day, netting both goals for the Brewers and advancing his season goal tally to eight, just three shy of the league's top scorer, Benson Omalla.

The match saw Tusker taking an early lead through Kapaito, who expertly converted a cross from Daniel Sakari. Kapaito's second goal underscored his crucial role in Tusker's title chase before Adebowale Samuel's late goal for Muhoroni added tension to the final minutes.

Currently positioned second on the table with 40 points from 23 matches, Tusker's next challenge is a showdown with AFC Leopards on March 10 at Machakos Stadium.
