The forward is a doubt for United’s final away game.

Manchester United will have to wait and see whether Marcus Rashford will recover in time to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

The England international sat out of United’s 2-0 victory – which helped the club maintain its place in the top four - against Wolves last time out.

Rashford has been training with the group, though Erik ten Hag said he reported being unwell and so will undergo a late assessment to figure out whether he can be involved against the Cherries.

"Rashy, he trained the whole week, but today he reported he doesn't feel well, so he's ill. We have to see how he recovers during the day and then see tomorrow," Ten Hag told reporters.

Ten Hag received a boost when goalkeeper Tom Heaton recently returned to training at Carrington. However, Marcel Sabitzer is ruled out of United’s remaining matches of the season.

The Austrian joined other long-term absentees; Lisandro Martinez and Donny van de Beek, who are also out for the season.

Van de Beek has, however, returned to training and was pictured back on the grass at Carrington. The Dutch international has been out since the reverse fixture against Bournemouth at the beginning of January.

Meanwhile, a win against the Cherries will take the Red Devils to within three points of securing Champions League football, even if Liverpool continues their winning streak against Aston Villa.
