Yanga are waiting for 2023/2034 CAF Champions League quarterfinal draw set for March 12 in Cairo, Egypt.

Tanzania Premier League powerhouse Yanga SC is brimming with confidence as they await the draw for the quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League.

Yanga, alongside fellow Tanzanian club Simba, have made history by advancing to the last eight of the competition, making Tanzania the only country with two representatives in the knockout stage of a major continental inter-club tournament.

Yanga's Media and Communication Manager, Ally Kamwe, expressed the team's mental readiness for any challenge in the upcoming quarterfinals.

Kamwe emphasized that Yanga's technical bench and players are psychologically prepared to face formidable opponents, including ASEC Mimosas from Ivory Coast, Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, and Atletico Petroleos from Angola, all of whom topped their respective groups.

"We are anxiously waiting for the draw, and we are courageously ready to face any opponent.

"Our initial target was to reach the group stage, and now that we are in the quarterfinals, our aim is to step into the semi-finals," stated Kamwe as per Daily News.

Regarding their upcoming fixtures in the Tanzania Premier League, Kamwe emphasized the significance of securing maximum points in the next four matches to maintain their position in the title race.

With the league competition heating up, Yanga is fully aware of the importance of every game.

"In the league, we understand the importance of accumulating 12 points in the next four matches," said Kamwe. "The title race is wide open, and we must take each game seriously."

Yanga's upcoming schedule includes a clash against Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi, followed by a home fixture against Ihefu at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

They will then host Geita Gold at the same venue before facing off against Azam in the highly anticipated 'Dar es Salaam Derby' on March 17.
