Shabana FC saw a surge in gate collections despite a recent loss signaling renewed fan support and optimism for the future.

Shabana FC have revealed the gate takings from their recent match against Ulinzi Stars, which ended in a disappointing 1-0 loss at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay on a Saturday afternoon.

Despite the defeat, the football club managed to pull off an astounding feat by selling a total of 1,635 tickets, marking a resurgence in fan support.

This game marked the team's first loss under the guidance of their new coach, Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo.

The club's remarkable gate collections were fueled by the enthusiastic attendance of their loyal supporters.

Shabana impressively collected Ksh 240,300 from the sale of VIP tickets, each priced at Ksh 300, and an additional Ksh 83,400 from selling a total of 834 regular tickets.

This impressive turnout translated into a substantial total gate collection of Ksh 323,700 for the day.

In the match against Ulinzi Stars, the visitors managed to secure the lead when Masuta Masita found the back of the net sublimely.

Despite Shabana's valiant efforts, they were unable to equalize, with goalkeeper Michael Wanyika denying a strike by Ezekiah Omuri.

Shabana's loss to Ulinzi Stars came after their new coach's promising start, where they clinched a remarkable 5-2 victory over Nzoia Sugar away at Sudi Stadium during their previous game.

However, before the Ulinzi match, attendance was slightly lower, with 1,507 fans present in the clash against Muhoroni Youth, but the gate collections still amounted to an impressive 278,500.

It is worth noting that the Muhoroni match was marred by violence, resulting in a fan injury due to crowd trouble.

In stark contrast, the match against Ulinzi Stars was marked by a calm atmosphere, showcasing the fans' dedication to supporting their team.

Shabana's recent home games had seen dwindling gate collections compared to the early matches of the season, which were buoyed by optimism and hope.

The team currently occupies the 17th position out of 18 teams on the league's log, with a total of 17 points.

They have won four games, drawn five, and suffered defeat in 10 out of the 19 games played in the league so far.
