An update of the Golden Boot standings of the FKF Premier League after match week 32.

Following gameweek 32 of the FKF Premier League, the golden boot race has started to take another path that people did not think was possible a month ago.

Football lovers in Kenya would have been expecting Benson Omala to have hit the 30 goal landmark by now, as he was leading the races by a landslide.

They had also given up hope of Elvis Machapo Rupia of Kenya Police not to catch up, given the rate at which he had been missing open chances.

Pulse Sports Kenya brings you the goalscoring charts after the conclusion of the latest round of fixtures.

25 Goals: Benson Omala (Gor Mahia)

It was another frustrating game for Benson Omala, who started on the bench during Gor’s 2-0 win over Ulinzi Stars after picking up an injury against Tusker a week earlier.

Ugandan striker Patrick Kaddu started in his place and although he did not get on the scoresheet, he linked play excellently, held the ball up and brought other players into the game, qualities that Omala lacks.

He was subbed on in the 75th minute but did not have enough time to add to his tally and with two games of the season left, time is running out for him to break the long standing 26 goal record.

24 Goals: Elvis Rupia (Police FC)

Elvis Rupia found the back of the net for the third successive week in a row as his side beat Posta Rangers 3-1 on Sunday.

Rupia has now hit 24 goals, just one behind Omala and will fancy his chances of even breaking the record himself against all the odds after people had been expecting Benson Omala to do it.

15 Goals: Joseph Mwangi (Nzoia Sugar FC)

Joseph Mwangi was unable to find the back of the net as Nzoia Sugar got back to winning ways with a 3-2 win over Nairobi City Stars to hit the 63 point mark.

11 goals:Umaru Kasumba (Bandari FC)

After a good run of goalscoring form that saw him hit double digits for the season, Umaru Kasumba was unable to add to his tally for the second week in a row in Bandari’s 2-0 win over Sofapaka at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

11 goals: Hassan Abdallah (Bandri FC)

Hassan Abdallah continued to show his fine run of form under new coach Twahir Muhiddin as he netted a goal in the side’s 2-0 win over Sofapaka this weekend.

10 goals. Kevin Etemesi (Nairobi City Stars)

Kevin Etemesi has had a unique debut season in the Kenya Premier League. Having signed from the third tier of Kenyan football, he has now hit 10 goals for the season, and is the only FKFPL player to have scored a brace in four different matches. He scored a penalty to make it 10 as his side lost 3-2 to Nzoia Sugar.
