Lukaku is reportedly now open to Saudi Arabia with his preferred return to Inter looking unlikely.

According to reports, Romelu Lukaku is now open to a move to Saudi Arabia after his preferred move—to remain at Inter—hit a snag.

The 30-year-old striker spent the season with the Nerazzurri on loan from Chelsea but does not want to return to his parent club, preferring to stay at Inter.

He was courted by Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli, but he allegedly turned down the offer. However, with another season on loan at Inter looking unlikely, the player is said to be warming up to the Saudi bid.

What happened

According to GetfootballNewsItaly, Chelsea have rejected Lukaku's request to return to Inter Milan on loan next season, with the Champions League finalists unable to finance a permanent deal.

Chelsea want to sell the striker and are averse to sending him on loan at the moment. This leaves the option of staying at the club or listening to the offer from Saudi Arabia.

With his acrimonious exit from the club last time out, he might not view staying at Chelsea as favourable and is now said to be open to the possibility of a Saudi Arabia move.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has received a new improved offer from Manchester United worth up to £50 million for midfielder Mason Mount.
