Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly on his way to Premier League giants Liverpool after agreeing personal terms with the Reds

Premier League giants Liverpool have reportedly stolen a march in the race for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen’s signature after agreeing a deal with the Napoli forward.

Liverpool leading race to sign Osimhen

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Osimhen after scouts were spotted watching the forward during the international break in a friendly against Saudi Arabia, and new reports suggest that the Merseyside club have already agreed a personal deal for the Nigerian.

Osimhen has been unsettled at Napoli in recent weeks, especially after the club was forced to apologise for a social media gaffe making fun of the 24-year-old striker on their official TikTok account.

In the wake of that incident and other disagreements with the club coach and top brass, Osimhen’s future at Napoli has never been more in doubt.

Osimhen set for Napoli exit

The Super Eagles striker has yet to sign a new contract with Napoli, despite his current deal ending in 2025, and the Partenopei now appear to be open to selling him.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has refused to rule out selling Osimhen and would want to make a profit on the Nigerian, meaning a sale would have to come before the Super Eagles icon is able to leave on a free transfer in 2025.

Italian reporter, Valter De Maggio, believes that Liverpool would be willing to prevent that outcome for Napoli, and will try to sign Osimhen in 2024, having already agreed on personal terms with the Nigerian forward.
