Real Madrid are planning a summer move for Liverpool left-back and Scotland captain Andy Robertson as they look to bring in new faces next season.

Andy Robertson has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp's side, having won the Champions League and Premier League with Liverpool

The Scottish captain joined Liverpool in 2017 and has made 267 appearances, scored six goals and created 63 assists for the Reds.

The Spanish giants are in the transfer market for a left-back as they prepare to replace Ferland Mendy who was signed in 2019.

Madrid prepare £40 million bid for Robertson

Madrid are keeping tabs on Liverpool's Andy Robertson as they prepare a £40 million bid for the Scottish left-back.

The 29-year-old is under contract at Liverpool until 2026 and has shown no inclination to leave Anfield at the end of the season but a team like Madrid might influence his decision to leave.

Robertson, who has 62 Scotland caps, joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 and has since won the English Premier League, English Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Champions League, and FA Cup titles.

The 29-year-old is rated in the world-class bracket and if he is to leave Anfield at the end of the season, Madrid will need to cough up £40 million or more to get their man.

Madrid linked with other targets

The Les Blancos are also focused on other targets if they are unable to convince Liverpool to sell their left-back Robertson.

Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich has already received significant attention from Real. The Canadian World Cup star's contract with the Bundesliga's top club expires in 2025, but the club has declared him to be "not for sale" and is hoping to extend it.

Real Madrid have also been linked with Kylian Mbappe of PSG and Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. They are looking to bring in new and fresh legs to the team with the likes of Modric and Toni Kroos ageing.
