Newcastle legend Alan Shearer criticises Marcus Rashford following another disciplinary action from Erik ten Hag.

Legendary England striker Alan Shearer rips into Marcus Rashford after his latest infringement, with the former Newcastle striker suggesting the Manchester United forward has been wasting his talent.

What happened

As Pulse Sports reported, after two nights out in Belfast, Marcus Rashford missed training, which has put him under fire once more at Manchester United.

The England international has struggled to hit his best this season, with the team also struggling with poor form.

The Manchester United star, who had been seen in Thompson Garage a few hours before, is said to have told manager Erik ten Hag on Friday that he was too sick. In the evening before his scheduled day off, Rashford was seen in Lavery's Bar after working out on Wednesday.

According to reports from the Sun, Rashford travelled to Northern Ireland to visit his friend and former academy teammate Ro-Shaun Williams, who recently signed a contract with Larne FC.

Rashford was subsequently dropped from the Red Devils FA Cup clash against Newport, with Ten Hag refusing to go into details, citing it as an ‘internal issue’, suggesting disciplinary action.

What Shearer said

“If it’s an internal matter, you’d think something is up,” Shearer said, per the BBC. “There’s a huge talent in there with Marcus Rashford. We’ve seen him be disciplined last season when he was late to a meeting before game, but something is clearly wrong - either at home or in his relationship with the football club.

“He can’t keep doing this, he can’t keep wasting his talent because it’s not right. He needs strong management—someone to get hold of him and tell him there’ll be huge regrets come the end of his career if he continues doing this. You can’t keep doing it, it needs sorting now.

“Thirty goals last season, four this season. When I see him play, it looks like he’s got the world on his shoulders, so it needs sorting now because he can’t really deal with it.”
