Porto shocks Arsenal as they take a goal advantage to the Emirate

Arsenal left in shock at the Estádio do Dragão as Porto stole a late winner as they head to the Emirates for the second leg.

The Gunners came into the game from a comfortable 5-0 victory over Burnley at the weekend and were brimming with confidence.

However, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Porto in their UEFA Champions League first leg, with the pressure of getting a win at the Emirates now a must for Arteta's men.

As it happened

Porto made one enforced change to the side who beat Estrela 2-0 last weekend. Nigerian left-back Zaidu Sanusi came off on a stretcher after suffering an ACL injury in that match and Wendell replaced him.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta decided to stick with the side that won 5-0 against Burnley during the weekend while former Porto man Fabio Vieira returns and is on the bench after an injury lay-off.

Arsenal started the first half with more control in the game but failed to create any chances, with the home side having the better chance to get the first goal.

The second half continued the same way as the first half, with Arteta's men failing to utilise the spell of possession against Porto.

Porto continued to push for the first goal of the game and the shocker came in injury time from a long-range effort.

Arsenal gave the ball away and Galeno, who stole the ball took a few touches to set himself and then from range curled a truly wonderful finish on the right foot past David Raya at full stretch.
