New Shabana FC head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo aims to lift the team out of the relegation zone in upcoming fixtures, starting with Nzoia Sugar on Sunday

Shabana FC newly-appointed head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo has hit the ground running as he begins work with the team ahead of their crucial Football Kenya Federation Premier League encounter against Nzoia Sugar this Sunday.

With spring classes commencing at Kiendege Training Grounds, it presents a valuable opportunity for the players to adapt to their new coach's strategies and style.

Pamzo took charge of Shabana on Wednesday, ending a period of joblessness that began after he left Kenya Police in December 2022 due to a disappointing start to the league season.

With determination and a clear vision in mind, Pamzo expressed his ambitions during his first press conference at the training grounds.

"Our focus is to earn the maximum points against Nzoia FC before facing Ulinzi Stars in the next game. Once we collect these six points, we will move out of the relegation zone. So far, things are looking bright. I have spoken to the players, and they are eager to go," he said.

The new head coach has been tasked with orchestrating a dramatic turnaround for Tore Bobe who have struggled with a string of poor results since their return to the topflight league.

In their previous match, Shabana suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Muhoroni Youth at the Raila Odinga Stadium.

The game took an unfortunate turn as violence erupted among fans, leaving one supporter injured, following their ninth loss of the season.

Meanwhile, Shabana has also bolstered their squad with a new signing during the mid-season transfer window.

Midfielder Japheth Mzungu has joined the team from Rainbow FC, adding depth and talent to their roster.

Shabana FC has faced significant challenges this season, with only three victories to their name and a daunting nine defeats.

Tote Bobe currently find themselves in 17th place on the league table, with just 14 points, only one point ahead of bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar.
