Brazilian forward Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez has officially confirmed his unprecedented departure from Vipers SC, only months since completing the move to Kitende.

Despite signing a two-year contract with the Uganda Premier League champions, the lanky striker has cited 'personal reasons' as the main for his exit.

"Unfortunately, for the personal reasons of a single person, today i say goodbye to the club." Giancarlo confirmed on his social media handles as he departed.

This was less than a week before his compatriot Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo alias Tinga joined him at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

Giancarlo leaves Vipers after netting twice, including one in an international friendly against AS Kigali and another, a spectacular freekick against Maroons FC in the FUFA Super 8 tournament.

Meanwhile, his departure comes ten days after Vipers exited the CAF Champions League, having suffered a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Jwaneng Galaxy in the preliminary round.

The club's head coach, Leonard Martins Neiva, a Brazilian native, has also been the subject of media reports, with many citing an imminent resignation.
