Broos has revealed plans to partner Mbule with Themba Zwane ahead of the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has lauded Sipho Mbule's recent performance, highlighting the midfielder's growth and importance to the national team.

Broos also expressed his desire to pair the Orlando Pirates star with Themba Zwane in the future.

Mbule delivered a Man of the Match display in a recent victory, providing crucial assists for goals by Oswin Appollis and Mohau Nkota. His performance did not go unnoticed by the head coach, who sees it as a sign of the player's newfound maturity.

"You know, four years ago when I first called him up, I immediately saw his talent," Broos stated. "The problem then was that other things seemed more important to him than football. Now, he understands that football requires focus both on and off the pitch, and I think he gets that."

The Belgian tactician emphasized Mbule's critical role in the squad, revealing the conversation he had with the player about his return to the national setup.

"He's a very important player for us," Broos continued. "I told him, 'This is your second chance. The AFCON and the World Cup are ahead. It's up to you how you perform, and I want to see what you can do.'"

Broos praised Mbule's creative impact, noting that his ability to make the team dangerous was underutilized in the first half of the match. He also drew a comparison to the injured Themba Zwane, suggesting a powerful combination if both were available.

"For now, Sipho can fill the gap left by Themba, but I hope Zwane returns to form at Sundowns so we can have both," the coach explained. "With Sipho and Themba, we'll be much stronger for AFCON and next year's World Cup."

As Bafana Bafana look ahead to the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Broos will be closely monitoring Mbule's consistency and Zwane's recovery, hopeful that both playmakers can be instrumental in the team's upcoming campaigns.
