Worthy, who was reportedly arrested on Friday for allegedly attacking Jones, has now responded to the allegations through his attorneys, Chip Lewis and Sam Bassett.
In a statement released by his representatives, Worthy has maintained his innocence and claimed that the accusations were part of an extortion attempt.

According to the NFL star's lawyers, the conflict arose after Worthy allegedly discovered Jones' infidelity and subsequently asked her to leave his residence.
His representatives further claimed that Jones refused to do so and instead attempted to extort him before making what they call a “baseless allegation” of assault.
"The complainant was recently asked to vacate Mr. Worthy's residence upon discovery of her infidelity. She has refused to do so and made a number of extortive efforts prior to resorting to this baseless allegation against Mr. Worthy," the statement continued.
