Nagelsmann is considered one of the most promising managerial talents in the game, having taken charge of Hoffenheim aged just 28 before moving to RB Leipzig and leading the club to the Champions League semi-finals.

Tottenham Hotspur have ruled out a move for Julian Nagelsmann as their next manager, according to sources.

The 35-year-old was sacked by Bayern Munich in March and had been linked with the Premier League club since.

However, Spurs have distanced themselves from a formal move and are focusing on other candidates.

Nagelsmann is considered one of the most promising managerial talents in the game, having taken charge of Hoffenheim aged just 28 before moving to RB Leipzig and leading the club to the Champions League semi-finals.

He then joined Bayern Munich in 2020 and won the league title in his first season, alongside two German Super Cups.

Tottenham's search for a permanent replacement for Antonio Conte, who was sacked in March, is ongoing, and they have been linked with a number of other candidates.

ESPN reports that Feyenoord's Arne Slot has emerged as a serious contender, while Mainz's Bo Svensson is one of several other candidates to have been discussed internally.

Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso and Sporting Club's Ruben Amorim are also of interest to the club as they seek to make their 12th permanent appointment in 22 years as chairman.

After Conte's departure, his assistant Cristian Stellini was named interim head coach, but he was sacked following Tottenham's shambolic 6-1 defeat at Newcastle, with Ryan Mason named his temporary successor.

Tottenham's hierarchy has insisted that they have no No 1 candidate for the role, rather a list of possibles they are in the process of exploring. While they respect Nagelsmann's work in management, they have said that the focus of their search lies elsewhere.

Meanwhile, sources close to Nagelsmann have indicated that he would like to wait until the end of the season before committing to his next project.

With the search for a new manager still ongoing, Tottenham's focus is on securing a strong finish to their Premier League campaign under Mason.

They face Aston Villa on Saturday, with a win potentially pushing them closer to European football next season.

While the news of Nagelsmann's exclusion from consideration may come as a disappointment to some Spurs fans, the club is determined to make a careful and considered decision on who will lead the team going forward.

As the search continues, Tottenham supporters will be hoping that their next manager can build a team that can challenge for major honours and bring a new era of success to the North London club.
